Gallery of Fine Arts
The major temporary exhibitions of the Museum of Fine Arts are held here at the Galerie des Beaux-Arts. Warning: it is only open during the exhibition period.
Mayor Adrien Marquet decided to build this gallery. It was built by the architect D'Welles from 1936 to 1939. Occupied by the supply services during the Second World War, it regained its original vocation in 1947.
Its facade is composed of a monumental door surmounted by the arms of the City. You can admire inside a beautiful staircase whose ramp of the eighteenth century was offered by the Bordeaux Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The Fine Arts Gallery is only open during temporary exhibitions.
