This artistic journey through the ages guarantees an unforgettable and breathtaking visual experience!
Long programme: "From Vermeer to Van Gogh, the Dutch masters"
In 2024, the Bassins des Lumières will be celebrating the incomparable and singular works of Van Gohg and Vermeer.
Discover a digital immersion in the world of the northern painters, where each canvas becomes a living world. Stroll along the Flemish canals, immerse yourself in everyday life as magnified by the masters of painting, and let yourself be enveloped by the light that plays on facades and interiors.
Travel through captivating scenes, from the Hitchcockian mysteries of Vermeer to the spiritual introspections of Rembrandt. Each work invites you into a narrative, from Rembrandt's Night Watch to Avercamp's frozen landscapes, Vroom's maritime scenes and Steen's lively taverns.
Finally, Van Gogh, heir to this tradition, transports you to the sun and moon of the South, with vibrant works that celebrate nature and emotion. The exhibition culminates in an apotheosis of colour and dreams, leaving you floating among the stars.
Short programme: "Mondrian, the architect of colour "
This digital creation looks back at the art of Piet Mondrian.
Discover Mondrian in an immersive exhibition, where his colourful grids and minimalist style revolutionised art, influencing fashion, design and pop culture. Follow his evolution from figurative to abstract, exploring how he broke with tradition to create Neoplasticism.
Travel through the transformations of the twentieth century, from candlelight to modern jazz, from Dutch landscapes to Manhattan skyscrapers. The exhibition, in five chapters, takes you through Mondrian's periods, from naturalism to abstraction, revealing a quest for pure, universal beauty.
