"Monet-Manet" exhibition at the Bordeaux Museum of Fine Arts
12 June - 28 October
To celebrate the 150th anniversary of the birth of the Impressionist movement, the Musée d'Orsay is taking some of its masterpieces across France in 2024, including to Bordeaux!
2 unique works to discover in Bordeaux
The Impressionist movement arrived on the art scene in 1874. It's been 150 years since the movement turned art history upside down. To celebrate this anniversary, the Musée d'Orsay would like to share its unique collection of Impressionist paintings.
2 works that are unique in the world are coming to Bordeaux: "La cabane des douaniers" by Claude Monet, painted in 1882, and the iconic painting "Le balcon" by Édouard Manet, dating from 1868-1869.
A rich cultural programme
There will be a wide range of guided tours of the Musée d'Orsay's two guest masterpieces and the new display of the museum's pre- and post-impressionist collections, as well as a talk by Isabelle Beccia on Berthe Morisot and the Manet brothers. There will also be a musical siesta to help visitors discover the works of art in a different way, and practical art workshops in the style of Monet or cutting and pasting. Finally, for young visitors, there are family visits and workshops for 7-11 year olds.
