L'Ile Nouvelle

Born from the meeting of two islands (Bouchaud and Sans Pain), the New Island, owned by the Conservatoire du Littoral, is 6 km long in the heart of the Estuary and facing Blaye. Since its emergence in the early nineteenth century, its history is full of surprises: exploited for wine and agricultur culture, inhabited and finally abandoned.
