Château de Seguin
Located at 18 km far from Bordeaux city centre, Château de Seguin is a family wine estate stretching over 173 ha of land in one piece with 97 ha planted with vines. Our worldwide famous wines reflet the great quality of our exceptional terroir. Château de Seguin is open to the public offering an elegant event space (weddings, business trainings etc.), guest rooms, a wine museum and a shop with a large selection of wines of the region.
Château de Seguin is situated on a high plateau in hilly surroundings in the Lignan commune, in the heart of Entre-Deux-Mers. Château de Seguin is one of the largest estates within Bordeaux Superieur appellation with its adjoining fields of almost 200 ha including a hundred hectares planted with vines for red wine production. Grape varieties planted are Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot.
The history of Chateau de Seguin starts in 780 when the first château was built by the Count of Seguin, Administrator of the Emperor Charlemagne. The present buildings were constructed on the foundation of the old château in the 1780’s. A very old noble past is tied to this land, and the impressive number of buildings shows that the property has always been dedicated to agriculture and winemaking.
