Château de Sales
Château de Sales is one of the few Bordeaux estates to have been passed on intact from one generation to the next ever since the 16th century. The Château itself, built in the middle of the 17th century, was given historical monument status in 1996.
With over 47.6 hectares of the 90-hectare estate under vines, Château de Sales has the largest vineyard in the Pomerol appellation. At once suave and refined, the wines of Chateau de Sales are the expression of their terroir. As a result, they are marked by elegance, silky tannins and pleasant fruity aromas. They reflect the perfect match between the grape varieties used, predominantly Merlot with some Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, and the estate’s gravelly, sandy soil.
