The Château belongs to the Baudet family, over five generations since 1894. It is situated by Plassac, near Blaye, renowned for its UNESCO World Heritage site: the Citadelle. The 24-hectares estate’s clay-limestone soils have been nurturing vines since Roman times. The wines – from Merlot, Malbec and Cabernet grapes – are appreciated the world over for their elegance, aromatics and complexity. A pioneer of environmentally friendly viticulture, J-M Baudet oversees every detail of his estate’s production from grape to glass with rigour and passion. The wines, with a finely-tuned ageing in French oak barrels, are authentic yet modern; as much for pleasure as for the table; recognized and awarded by international judges and peers. Françoise and Jean-Michel will welcome you for either a complete visit or a simple tasting, as you prefer. We kindly request visitors to call in advance.
