Château Cardinal Villemaurine
Owned by the Leclérot family since September 2018, Château Cardinal Villemaurine is located a few steps from the village of Saint-Émilion. Christine & Alain Leclérot, wine lovers, pass on their passion to their youngest son Olivier. Together, they set themselves a challenge: to restore the Château's reputation by modernising the technical installations, restructuring the vineyard and renovating the reception areas.
The plots of Château Cardinal Villemaurine are spread over 3 production areas, a few kilometres apart and all in the Saint-Emilion Grand Cru appellation. These plots enable us to produce wines on 3 different types of soil, namely clay, limestone and sandy-clay soils.
The wines of Château Cardinal Villemaurine are made from a classic blend. Merlot, the king grape variety in Saint-Emilion, brings roundness, fruitiness and fatness to our wines. The Cabernet Franc brings finesse and structure.
The owners welcome you all year round by appointment. A wide range of tours is available to give you a unique experience at Château Cardinal Villemaurine: discovery tour, gourmet tour, winemaker's workshop or even an assembly workshop.
The shop welcomes you everyday from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.
