Bike ride through the urban vineyards - 23 kilometre route

Lovers of cycling and wine will relish this 23-kilometre bike ride. Setting off from Blanquefort train station, you’ll head out on a discovery of four wine estates from the Haut Médoc appellation. These Médoc chateaux are open to visitors and offer various different attractions, such as tours, tasting sessions, boutiques… Something to recompense your efforts after roaming the local vineyards and forests.

Leave from the Blanquefort train station and transport hub
Blanquefort

Go down Rue de la Gare, turn right along the cycle path that leads to the roundabout, then turn left along the cycle path down Rue Jean Duvert. At the roundabout continue straight.

Bike passage on the left

Cycle up the drive until the chateau and continue down the plane tree-lined driveway.

Cycle past the bank and turn left onto Rue de Linas

Next, take the first right onto Rue Michel de Montaigne and continue straight onto Rue du Queyron, then turn left onto Rue des Marnières in 500 metres.

Turn right onto Rue Maryse Bastié, then Rue Alcide Eyquem

After 600 metres turn right on Rue de Poujeau, then turn right again down Rue de Peybois. Continue straight onto Rue Edmond Blanc. Once you arrive on Avenue du Général, turn right, then take a left onto the cycle path down Rue de Saint-Ahon.

Cycle by the 2 gravel quarries until Rue de Gare, turn left. Take Rue de la Gare then Rue Bel Air. After 1.5 km, cross Avenue du Général de Gaulle and then take Rue de Peybois on your left. Continue straight until you reach Rue Edmond Blanc then go straight down that road. Once you arrive at Avenue du Général, turn right, then left to take the cycle path down Rue de Saint-Ahon.
